About
The Wilkes neighborhood is a vibrant, suburban community located in outer NE Portland between the Columbia River and Glendoveer Golf Course. It is a combination of residential and industrial use, with business parks north of Sandy Blvd. It is bordered by the Columbia River (to the North) and Gresham (to the East).
The neighborhood is committed to remaining a safe, diverse area with access to public parks, community events and more. Our Wilkes Community Group functions as a neighborhood association within the City of Portland; no membership dues are assessed, and all meetings and events are open to the public.
Our neighborhood meets on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30-8PM

Our Purpose
To enhance the livability of the area by establishing and maintaining an open line of communication and liaison between the Wilkes Community Group and other neighborhoods, governmental units and other agencies;
To provide an open process by which all members of the Wilkes Community Group may involve themselves in the affairs of the neighborhood,
To be organized exclusively for non-profit, educational, environmental livability and/or charitable purposes, and
To do and perform all activities related to said purposes, to have and enjoy all powers granted and engage in lawful activities for which corporations may be organized under ORS Chapter 65.

Wilkes Wednesdays
Beginning in February 2026, Wilkes Community Group will be gathering at a local to our neighborhood cafe or restaurant once/month for an organized social hour+.
We will meet from 12 NOON - 1PM on the third Wednesday of each month. Locations will vary as we support different cafes and restaurants throughout the year. Dates below:
